Sampras Inducted into Rogers Cup Hall of Fame

August 10, 2013 Pete Sampras was inducted into the Rogers Cup Hall of Fame on Saturday night, joining tennis icons like Billie Jean King, Monica Seles, John McEnroe, Martina Hingis, and many other luminaries in the prestigious Hall of Fame. Sampras reached the Canadian final in 1995, semifinals in 1990, and two other quarter-finals. The only player to finish as year-end world No. 1 for six consecutive seasons (1993-1998), he is also second all-time in number of Grand Slams won after hoisting seven Wimbledon trophies, two Australian Opens, and five US Opens. Sampras exited the ranks of professional tennis at the top of his game, winning his very last match in the 2002 US Open final against Andre Agassi.
