To All Pete Sampras Fans,

Pete Sampras, winner of 14 Grand Slams is a tennis legend who needs to be remembered not only by his tennis fans worldwide, but by all who attend the U.S. Open and all who see the Grand Slam on television. For this reason, we believe that a statue of Pete at the U.S. Open would be a wonderful way of giving recognition to his great tennis.

Please sign our petition to send to the USTA asking them to erect a statue of Pete at the U.S. Open in New York in recognition of his many years of great tennis.

Pete Sampras is a legend and an integral part in the popularity of the game of tennis. A man of integrity, with a great sense of humor and a compassionate spirit, Pete represents what a true sportsman is made of. I can't think of an athlete in tennis that surpasses Pete as an all-around role model and icon for the tennis world. For all that he has exemplified, please erect a statue of Pete at the U.S. Open in New York.

It's only fitting that the man of few words has a statue to honor him. His grace and form would make a visual marvel to say it all. He is solidly the best tennis player we've ever had in my time!

After reading the other comments, my thoughts were also that Pete should be honored at Wimbledon in some major way, and why haven't the Wimbledononian's credited him as yet? He is of course an "international" tennis icon and a lifetime "Club Member of the'All England Lawn Tennis Club'."

One of the greatest tennis players ever and we had the priviledge to have him here in the United States, why wouldn't USTA erect a statue in his behalf, it is their responsibility and honor.

For the greatest tennis player of all time, a statue of Pete Sampras at the US Open would be very fitting, specially Pete won his first and last grand slam at the Open.

There is no reason at all why the USTA would refuse this petition.
I believe that Pete Sampras is the greatest tennis player of all time not only because he has the record Grand Slam titles but mainly because of his talent, sportsmanship, technical abilities, tenacity, the quality and quantity of the players in his era and his single-mindedness and focus when he is playing. He is the only tennis player who has given the game his best, both physically and emotionally, in all the years he played tennis. Sure there are players who gave their best but no one has been able to sustain the fire and ferocity for years.
