A statue of Pete Sampras at the USOpen in Flushing Meadows would be a wonderful way to honor the greatest tennis champion of all time. He won 14 Grand Slams and was #1 for 6 years.

He is someone our children should know about and look up to. His dedication to hard work a great sportmanship is what we all need to work toward in our lives.

Pete Sampras deserves to be recognized for his contributions to the sport of tennis. He was eloquent and a gentleman on and off the court. His 14 Grand Slam victories are a testament to his drive and determination, along with his record breaking weeks and years at number 1. Please recognize this man for his accomplishments by honoring him with a statue in his honor.

To The GREAT PETE SAMPRAS!!
To commemorate Pete Sampras' truly wonderful, remarkable, and unmatched career in the sport of tennis history, must always be remembered for all time. I therefore believe that a statue of the GREAT MAN, TO THE GREATEST MAN IN TENNIS HISTORY will truly befit his class act, and dedication to excellence

Yes, Pete was an American tennis player, but in my eyes he was a world player who always brought his 'A' game to the court whenever it was required to get the job done. He is very much missed, and to me there will never be another player, who as Fred Perry said and I quote: "Sampras moves like oil. You don't hear him. You only hear the other guy. And the other guy is losing."

Pete was the ultimate sportsmen. Gracious in victory and defeat. He behaved like a perfect gentlemen unlike other fellow countrymen who found it "cool" to exhibit no restraint. And no. wait. he won 14 grand slams in the process, a feat which even Roger Federer will find difficult to summount. There is no doubt that he is right up there with Michael Jordan and Mohammed Ali as one of the greatest sportsmen the world has seen and therefore it goes to reason that a statue should be put up.
