Petition for a Pete Sampras Statue

To All Pete Sampras Fans,

Pete Sampras, winner of 14 Grand Slams is a tennis legend who needs to be remembered not only by his tennis fans worldwide, but by all who attend the U.S. Open and all who see the Grand Slam on television. For this reason, we believe that a statue of Pete at the U.S. Open would be a wonderful way of giving recognition to his great tennis.

Please sign our petition to send to the USTA asking them to erect a statue of Pete at the U.S. Open in New York in recognition of his many years of great tennis.

It is only fitting that the greatest American tennis player of all time be honored at the premier American tennis center, home of the USTA. Not only was Pete Sampras the greatest player of his and perhaps any generation, but he should always be remembered for his great sportsmanship, humility and valor. A bronze statue of his inimitable serve is a MUST!

Pete Sampras is a living legend - a combination of exceptional dedication to tennis, unique character and a simple, decent man. Guy like Pete Sampras can be a real role model for young generation that's why I think it's a good idea to honour him with a statue which could be seen by all coming to U.S. Open

Australian Open has Rod Laver arena, Roland Garros has S. Lenglen court, I believe Pete Sampras deserves this kind of honor!

Pete Sampras might be the best player in tennis history.he is definitely the best and most talented player in the US History. But don't just look at his impressive stats. He was/is a role model especially for young people who look for somebody to follow.

He (along with other great ones, like Michael Chang, Jim Courier and Andre Agassi) helped Tennis to become nearly as popular as American Football, Baseball and Basketball in the 90s.

The USTA should also remember that a certain Pete Sampras helped the US Davis Cup Team to win their last title back in 1995 and is the youngest man ever to triumph at Flushing Meadows.

It might be a strange comparison: But when politicians get honoured for their sometimes questionable activities, a Pete Sampras deserves such a tribute in any case. Thank you.
