Pete, I've been following your tennis career now for more then
10 years and it's been an amazing time. If you dominate tennis more
then a decade when competition got bigger and players getting stronger
and better and still winning 14 slams and over more then 60 ATP-tournaments
then there is no doubt in my mind that you're the best all rounder
there is ever been. Pete, thanks for these wonderfull years. Congratulations
with your 14th slam victory. I always believed you've got a slam in
you and whose to say that you will not win another one. The best of
luck for next year. A huge fan. Wiet Goris |

Despite all the odds, all the predictions & all the detractors,
all the expectations to crumble under pressure and fold under exhaustion,
you showed that the hard work did finally started paying off, &
you hung tough right till the sweet end, digging deep when needed
to the inner reserves of a champion. And when it was all said and
done with the final backhand volley winner and you could hold up the
silver trophy once again, you had every right to name all the detractors
one by one, stick out your tongue to them and say loud and clear:
“In your face.” But there was nothing, no gloating, just the boyish
smile of joy, the relief that the nightmare was over and the quiet
marvel at how well you played. Congratulations Pete, & thanks for these wonderful two weeks & the beautiful game you play. Csilla |

People remember where they were at the time of important events...I
remember where I was when I watched you win your first US Open. I
have followed and cheered you ever since. I am SO glad you did not
give in to the doubters and retire. Tennis will not be the same for

What can I say Pete? You were simply amazing. Yet again! I grew
up just minutes away from The All England Club, and spent many memorable
summer afternoons watching you play there. From the moment in 1992
that I first saw you play there, I knew I was seeing something truly
special. A decade later and you continue to amaze me. Thank you for
lifting this sport we love to brilliant new highs. It has always been
both a joy and a privilege to watch you play. Thanks for something
special... And if you play Wimbledon again next year, I'll be there
