To All Pete Sampras Fans,

Pete Sampras, winner of 14 Grand Slams is a tennis legend who needs to be remembered not only by his tennis fans worldwide, but by all who attend the U.S. Open and all who see the Grand Slam on television. For this reason, we believe that a statue of Pete at the U.S. Open would be a wonderful way of giving recognition to his great tennis.

Please sign our petition to send to the USTA asking them to erect a statue of Pete at the U.S. Open in New York in recognition of his many years of great tennis.

Please, I am asking the USTA to erect a statue of Pete Sampras at the U.S. Open in New York in recognition of his many years of great tennis. I shall never forget the unique, exciting talent exhibited by this true champion. What a wonderful way to show our appreciation for the joy and excitement that Sweet Pete showed us for these many years. I miss seeing his unique style of great winning tennis. Thank you Pete Sampras.

I've been a fan of Pete since '93. With all this talk of Federer as the greatest of all time, i disagree with that. Even if he surpasses Pete's take of 14 Grand Slam, i'd still consider Pete as the greatest. So i agree with this petition to immortalize him at the US Open. Too bad he didn't have any british blood on him, then we woul've seen his statue at Wimbledon already.

Pete played in a time of many good/great players and still came out on top. Someone may someday eclipse his record of slams, but no will have done it against an equal level of competition nor with more class and respect for the game.

Could there be any doubt that such a tribute should be paid to the greatest ever?

Had I read a champions mind when I was playing competitive tennis I would have been a much better player. Pete Sampras always held himself in the way a competitor should. He didn't throw tantrums and was not a premadonna. I respect the athlete who can carry himself in a manner that honors him and his sport. Their are too few athletes like Pete Sampras out their. Thank you Pete.

pete is the best player in history of tenis not because what his results but his style that serve those volleys those forhands and what for me confirmed his greatness is the way he quit the business that us open he won in 2002 was a signatura of how big he is. that victory over his long time rival and the way he play that first couple of sets he reminded me the final at sw19 1999

In recognition of not only his 14 grand slam wins but his fantastic sportsmanship while wining them; I believe that the USTA should erect a statue of Pete Sampras on the ground of the US Open. The knock on Pete was always that he wasn't exciting enough. All he did was play incredible tennis while respecting his aponents and the officials. His tennis was all the excitement that I needed. That should sufficient for anyone that really cares about the game and sport in general.
