Statue Petition

Petition for a Pete Sampras Statue

To All Pete Sampras Fans,

Pete Sampras, winner of 14 Grand Slams is a tennis legend who needs to be remembered not only by his tennis fans worldwide, but by all who attend the U.S. Open and all who see the Grand Slam on television. For this reason, we believe that a statue of Pete at the U.S. Open would be a wonderful way of giving recognition to his great tennis.

Please sign our petition to send to the USTA asking them to erect a statue of Pete at the U.S. Open in New York in recognition of his many years of great tennis.

Pete Sampras is one for the ages. In my book he is the best player ever to hold a tennis racquet.
Anybody who has watched Sampras in his prime, knows that there will never be another Sampras.
It is very necessary that his own Country realises the importance of Sampras in Tennis History.

Can't believe this hasn't already been done for this great champion - there should be a statue at all the Grand Slam venues that he won multiple times.having won 14 Grand Slams.5 US Opens, 7 Wimbledons & 2 Australian Opens, surely this is enough to validate a statue?

Hope you achieve it!

Simply the greatest person to have played tennis! 14 Grand Slams, 6 years ending number 1, and many other records! All these were achieved with such grace, elegance and humility!

He so deserves to be awarded this Statue in his home country not just for what he did for tennis but how well he represented his country too - he's a great role model for kids learning to play tennis or in how to behave - he's just a class act through and through!!

Pete Sampras even after retirement has shown the world of tennis what makes a true champion! How many players after being 5 years retired could comeback and beat the current world number 1??

14 Grand Slam titles & the most under-rated achievement/record of all 6 year ending number 1 in the world is more than enough to justify this statue being errected in the place where it all started back in 1990.when a scrawny innocent 19 year old announced his arrival on the ATP tour and then in the stuff of a Hollywood movie scene he ended his fantastic career the way it started with his final & greatest wins!
