Statue Petition

Petition for a Pete Sampras Statue

To All Pete Sampras Fans,

Pete Sampras, winner of 14 Grand Slams is a tennis legend who needs to be remembered not only by his tennis fans worldwide, but by all who attend the U.S. Open and all who see the Grand Slam on television. For this reason, we believe that a statue of Pete at the U.S. Open would be a wonderful way of giving recognition to his great tennis.

Please sign our petition to send to the USTA asking them to erect a statue of Pete at the U.S. Open in New York in recognition of his many years of great tennis.

For a player in his time, he is one of the best of the best if that ever makes sense. But its true. Under extreme conditions he produces his best. Just look back to the 2000 Wimbledon Final where he came back from a set down and two mini breaks down in the second set tie-break to come back and clinch the set and ultimately the match.

Rafter would then later say Pete Sampras is the "number 1 player" you don't want to play because hes just so solid.

And for those who say he is boring and shows no emotion, he is such an inspiration for those who want to achieve what they want to achieve.

Pete Sampras.forever the world no.1.

I've always loved tennis; my wife found Pete in 1990, and together we watched as he made record after record; and he was a real hero to our 4 kids. Thank you Thank you samprasfanz for working to get Pete a "longer-than-life" type of recognition with this statue. Pistol Pete, Sweet Pete really deserves this; and American tennis owes him real recognition as an athlete, sportsman and gentlemen

My Mom used to get all excited watching Pete play; so I wondered what all the excitement was about.and started watching. Then I read about him.everything I could. He taught me that if I work really hard at something I love, I will be a success, and love my life. He also has been such a good son and husband and now father. I am trying to be like him now that I'm a young adult. Let's do this. PUT UP A BIG OLE STATUE OF HIM SO EVERYONE WILL KNOW HIS LIFE. THANKS

Pete is 1 of a kind, an incomparable legend. He deserves a statue & so much more. He doesn't crave the limelight, but this is the least the USTA can do for him. Here's crossing my toes & fingers that he'll get his overdue recognition for all of his countless contributions to the game & precious memories of how he carries himself on & off the court. Thanx !

I love Pete - the way he raises tennis to an art-form; the wonderful example he has been to my tennis-crazy kids, the exemplary life he leads that truely makes him a worthwhile idol for children of all generations to come. And such a sportsman, gentleman, husband, father and credit to our country. Please make a wonderful statue for him.
